B002 - The name of the jacket

As I mentioned in the previous post, Douglas is working hard and diligent and we hereby present some pictures of the finished jacket that soon will hit the postbox and meet its new owner. Down below, a closer look of the details is viewable for your pleasure. The jacket is tailored in a 12,5 oz Cone denim quality which we just felt was the perfect quality for our jackets.

An average day in the studio

This was just one of those days when my bro' sits there, working hard, and I'm just running around loitering with my camera around my neck. Here are some pictures of Douglas, tailoring a new jacket.

Something we should've done a long time ago

Our ironing board has been looking like a pile of junk for a long time now and we've been telling ourselves the whole time either to fix it or to buy a new one. Some while ago, I had enough when I was in the middle of ironing one of our projects and the whole room began to stink of burnt plastic. Therefore, I decided I just had to re-cover it.

The pictures below shows how it's been looking for a longer time. I think you all understand why something just had to be done.

I threw out the old cover and it seemed logical to re-dress it in denim. I mean, we don't have that much other materials to choose upon and I thought it'd look pretty cool.

The material of choice: An 11 oz cone mills quality we just got hold of.

This is how it turned out. You almost can't believe that it's the same ironing-board. Now it feels good using it again. Maybe it'll even get some wearing as the time goes by.

The best thing of the whole outcome, however, lies in the mere feeling of completing what should've been done a long time ago.

Desert dust

Behold! Here are some pictures of Douglas's Blue Highway jeans that came along on a three day trip out to the desert of Nevada. The red, and to some extent poisonous, dust really sucked itself into the garment and the jeans almost looked like they were found in some old mine after a hundred years or so. We've now washed the trousers for the first time and all of the dust came off. Luckily, we managed to take som pictures of the jeans when we still were wandering around the desert.

The Blue Highway blog

What started out as blog about vintage denim that we found on Ebay, has the last year merged into a blog about our own brand, our custom denim.

Either we write about our collection or our passion for sewing our own jeans, we hope that The Blue Highway blog will inspire you to become a denim nerd like us.

In the gallery section you can find out more about our collection.
