Six months

I thought I'd publish some pictures of Douglas in his six months old jeans, so here they are. The trousers are sewn in a 12 oz Cone quality that we found during one of our trips to L.A.

Douglas has used the jeans every day in six months and they have been washed about six times during that time. The pants are starting to get a really nice finish without distinguished contrasts.

New pants

3 yards of 13,25oz Cone denim are hereby transformed into a pair of trousers! A close friend of ours told us the other week that he wanted a pair of new jeans, so we dug up a Cone quality we've been interested in for a while to see how a bit of wearing will affect the quality. This is be really fun and we've asked for pictures of the whole process. Right now he's just had the trousers for a couple of days, but after a month or so we think that some nice wearing will be visible.

Here's some pictures of the result. Sadly, these are all low-resolutive cell phone pictures, but better ones are soon to come. Richard also promised that whenever he's ready to order a new pair of trousers, we'll have the old ones for decoration in the studio.

Jeans - a kind of art

A few days ago, we received a bundle of Cone denim samples in 12 to 12,5 oz and we've managed to find two qualities that we're fond of. I think we'll get some tests from various qualities and see how they'd fit as material for pants.

About a week ago we started a nice little project with our older brother, who paints as often as he has the time to. His studio is placed right beside ours, and he's been asking for a pair of black jeans for a long time. For our brother, only black jeans will do, and you can probably figure out why if you take a look at his paintings. At last we managed to get ahold of a really nice piece of black quality - a 14 oz japanese black line.

The pants were finished yesterday and has already spent a couple of hours in the bath tub. Right now, it's just waiting to dry and then the pants will be ready for our older brother to possess. We're gonna make a limited edition of black jeans where Sackarias paints a unique motive on the inside of the pockets, but more about that when there's pictures ready for it. While you're waiting for that, take a look at his website: http://www.sacke-art.com/

Wallets

Here are some pictures of smaller leather stuff we've made. They're tailored both in natural veg tan and in colored leather. The wallets made of veg tan are just now waiting for the sun to come out. When it does, the UV rays will make them a bit darker.

The wallet with the great note is just on its way to a new happy owner. I hope we get to see some pictures of how it's going to look after a lot of sun, wearing and love.

The Blue Highway blog

What started out as blog about vintage denim that we found on Ebay, has the last year merged into a blog about our own brand, our custom denim.

Either we write about our collection or our passion for sewing our own jeans, we hope that The Blue Highway blog will inspire you to become a denim nerd like us.

In the gallery section you can find out more about our collection.
